7 Chakras- Understanding Balanced & Unbalanced

Chakras are a form of energy healing that have been used for centuries to promote physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. They are believed to be the centre of spiritual power in the body, and each chakra is associated with a different aspect of your life. By balancing these chakras, you can create harmony within yourself and improve your overall health.

The seven major chakras are the most important energy centres in the body. They are responsible for our physical, mental, and spiritual health. By understanding their meanings and benefits, we can gain a better understanding of how to use them to improve our overall wellbeing.

The seven major chakras include the root chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye chakra and crown chakra. Each one of these has its own unique meaning and benefit that can be used to bring balance back into our lives. By exploring each one of these major energy centres we can learn how to use them for healing and transformation.

The root chakra, also known as the Muladhara Chakra, is the foundation of all the other chakras. It is located at the base of the spine and is associated with the colour red. This chakra is responsible for our sense of survival, stability, security and vitality.

The mantra associated with this chakra is “LAM” and it helps to open up this energy centre so that it can be balanced and energized. When this chakra is balanced and energized, we can feel a sense of security in our lives and be able to take on any challenge that comes our way. The root chakra helps us to feel connected to our physical body as well as grounded in life.

When the root chakra is balanced, you feel secure and grounded in your body and in your environment. You have a sense of humility and are able to be present in the moment. You feel stable and connected to the Earth, resulting in increased energy levels. With a balanced root chakra, you can trust yourself more easily and have an increased ability to manifest your goals.

The root chakra is the foundation of your energy system and when it is unbalanced, it can lead to feelings of insecurity, fear, anxiety and low self-esteem. It can also cause physical symptoms such as fatigue, digestive issues and an overall sense of instability. By understanding the causes of an unbalanced root chakra and how to restore balance, you can create a greater sense of inner peace and wellbeing.

The Sacral Chakra, located just below the navel, it is associated with the colour orange. It is believed to be the source of creativity, joy and sexuality. The mantra for this chakra is VAM and it is associated with abundance and prosperity.

The Sacral Chakra plays an important role in our lives as it helps us to express our emotions freely and creatively. It also helps us to connect with others through intimacy and sexuality. When this chakra is balanced, we can experience a sense of joy and fulfilment in all aspects of life - from relationships to work.

The unbalanced sacral chakra can be a source of many negative feelings, such as guilt, shyness, and a sense of irresponsibility. These feelings can lead to difficulty in relationships and decision-making. It is important to understand the root cause of these feelings and how to balance the sacral chakra in order to improve mental health.

The solar plexus chakra is located between the navel and the solar plexus, and is represented by a yellow colour. It is associated with the mantra RAM, and it governs our power, self esteem, strength, confidence, and mental balance.

The solar plexus chakra helps us to take control of our lives and make decisions that are best for us. It gives us the courage to stand up for ourselves in difficult situations. When this chakra is balanced, we feel empowered to make decisions that will benefit us in the long run.

By focusing on this chakra through meditation or other practices, we can restore its balance and open ourselves up to new possibilities in life. This will help us gain more confidence in ourselves and our abilities.

The unbalanced solar plexus chakra can cause a lack of energy, weakness, fatigue, and feelings of worthlessness. It is important to understand how this chakra works and how to bring it back into balance in order to live a healthy and balanced life.

The heart chakra is located in the centre of the chest and is represented by the colour green. It is associated with the manta YAM and its energy helps us to open our hearts to love, empathy and serenity. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to view life with an open-hearted attitude and live in truthfulness.

The heart chakra plays an important role in our emotional balance and wellbeing. It helps us to connect with our inner self, foster relationships with others, and express ourselves authentically. By cultivating a strong connection between our physical body and spirit, we can become more loving, compassionate, understanding, and emotionally balanced individuals.

The unbalanced heart chakra can lead to feelings of loneliness, being demanding, critical and jealous. It can also make us feel cold-hearted and narcissistic. When our heart chakra is out of balance, it can be difficult to feel connected to others and ourselves. It can also lead us to make decisions based on fear instead of love.

The throat chakra, also known as the Vishuddha chakra, is located at the base of the throat. It is represented by a blue lotus flower with sixteen petals and its associated mantra is HAM. This chakra governs our ability to communicate and express ourselves in a truthful and peaceful manner.

The throat chakra is associated with communication, self-expression, truthfulness and peace. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to speak our truth without fear or judgement. We can express ourselves authentically and be heard by others. When this energy centre is blocked or out of balance, we may feel like our voice isn’t being heard or that we are not being understood by others. Through meditation and chanting the mantra HAM, we can open up this energy centre to promote better communication and self-expression.

An unbalanced throat chakra can manifest in many ways, including a shy and weak voice, fear of speaking up, being unable to listen to others, lying, and arrogance. It is an imbalance that can cause many issues in our lives if it is not addressed.

The throat chakra is associated with communication and the ability to express ourselves authentically. When this chakra is unbalanced, we may experience difficulty expressing our thoughts and feelings or find ourselves unable to listen to others. We may also experience fear of speaking up or find ourselves lying or being overly arrogant in an attempt to mask our insecurity.

By understanding the root causes of an unbalanced throat chakra and learning how we can bring it back into balance, we can regain our confidence in communication and start living a more fulfilling life.

The third eye chakra, also known as the Ajna Chakra, is located between the brows and is associated with the colour indigo. This chakra is related to our intuition, vision, perception and spiritual guidance. It is believed that when this chakra is activated and balanced it can help us to connect with our higher self and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves.

The mantra associated with the third eye chakra is “OM” which helps us to focus on this energy centre. When we chant this mantra we are able to open up our intuition and access inner guidance. Through meditation and other spiritual practices we can activate the third eye chakra and use it to explore our inner world of insight, wisdom and creativity.

When this chakra is unbalanced, it can lead to feelings of lack of intuition and imagination as well as manipulative behaviour. People may also experience panic or fear, have nightmares, and feel disconnected from their own spiritual energy. It is important to address an unbalanced third eye chakra in order to restore balance and peace in one's life.

The crown chakra, also known as the Sahasrara chakra, is the seventh and highest chakra located at the top of the head. It is associated with the colour violet and sometimes white. Its mantra is OM and its element is knowing. The crown chakra represents our connection to spirit and the universe, allowing us to see beyond our physical senses into a realm of higher consciousness. It helps us to understand our place in this world and how we are all connected.

Having a balanced crown chakra is essential for achieving spiritual growth and connecting with your higher self. Achieving this balance requires an understanding of what it means to have an open mind and heart while being aware of our actions. Through meditation and mindfulness practices we can learn how to keep our crown chakra balanced in order to experience peace, harmony and spiritual growth.

The unbalanced crown chakra can cause a wide range of mental and physical disorders. It is associated with fear, materialism, memory problems, apathy, and broken relationships. All of these symptoms can be linked to an imbalance in the crown chakra, which is the highest centre of energy in the body. This imbalance can lead to physical issues like headaches and migraines as well as emotional issues such as depression and anxiety. The key to restoring balance in this chakra is by understanding how it works and how it affects our lives. With this knowledge we can start to make changes that will help us find peace within ourselves and better manage our mental health.
